When it comes to practicing Law, Anna Handy cannot imagine herself working in any other profession. “I have immense passion for my profession. I live and breathe the legal profession and do everything within my power to get the best results in each case. When people hire me, they can be rest assured that they have found a lawyer who truly care about their cases and who strives to achieve the best results in each case,” says Anna Handy, whose firm has successfully assisted countless Florida residents recover money for injuries, obtain a discharge of their debts in bankruptcy or a legal immigration status.

Focusing her practice primarily on personal injury, bankruptcy, and immigration law, Anna Handy is the founder and sole practitioner of Anna Handy Law Firm. P.A. Anna provides representation to the Daytona Beach, FL area residents who have incurred economic and noneconomic losses due to negligence or recklessness of other parties, who have been suffering from financial troubles and creditor harassment, and who are in need of obtaining legal immigration status or bringing immigrant workers for their businesses in the U.S.

“My legal work has spanned from helping people secure compensation for injuries to helping them obtain discharge of debts in bankruptcy or helping them obtain legal immigration status in the United States,” Anna Handy notes. “And the reason I’ve focused on these areas is because I have a very strong sense of right and wrong, and I’m not afraid to stand up to bullies and the powerful to pursue justice and fairness.”

Prior to becoming an attorney, Anna Handy worked as a paralegal for seven years for an established local plaintiff’s personal injury law firm, Joe Horrox, P.A., performing substantive legal work under the supervision of lawyers, assisting more than a thousand local residents in various disputes, while at the same time paying her way through law school. After becoming the attorney in 2015, she started her own private practice, representing clients in local state and federal courts. In 2017, Anna Handy returned to Joe Horrox, P.A. as a partner and remained with the firm through 2022.

“Having years of experience in the legal field, I pride myself on my candor when discussing potential cases. I am always straightforward and honest about the issues people are facing. If they don’t have a case, I will let them know—I’m not going to sugar-coat it. I believe clients must be well informed about the potential outcomes, the legal processes, timelines, and attorney fees and costs before they decide to retain a lawyer. Sometimes hiring a lawyer may not be in the best interest of a client, and I do not hesitate to inform my clients about alternatives and, perhaps, less expensive options.”

Anna Handy has also been blessed with wealth of life experience. She was born and raised in Belarus, a country located in Eastern Europe between Russia and Poland. She emigrated to the United State in 2005. To support herself and her family, while furthering education and to become a lawyer, Anna Handy held various jobs. She served tables at local restaurants, stocked shelves at Walmart and Target, patrolled a Walmart parking in a security vehicle, checked guests in and out of local hotels, babysat for families, worked as an elementary school teacher, and taught piano lessons, just to mention a few.

“Without question, my diverse life experience has helped me become a better lawyer,” Anna Handy says. “My strong work ethics, moral values, drive, motivation and adaptability were all cultivated during my upbringing in Belarus. And when I moved to the United States, those were the qualities that helped me succeed in this country and became the foundation of my practice.”

Anna Handy has been married since 2008 and has two sons and a dog. Her interests outside of work include running, cooking, gardening, playing piano, hiking, traveling, and most of outdoor activities.

“Becoming an American Citizen is one of the most treasured privileges of my lifetime. Coming from a country that does not have respect for people’s rights or property and where corruption permeates all levels of society, I became a lawyer because I wanted to be part of a profession that promotes the Rule of Law and justice. I look forward to working with you on your case and helping you every way I can. Please give me a call. My direct phone number is (386) 248-3000. You can also email me at [email protected].”
