Why have an attorney prepare your immigration case?

Immigration laws and regulations are vast and complex and are constantly changing. There is a lot involved in putting together a solid immigration case. We frequently get phone calls from clients who received a denial letter or a request for evidence from USCIS because they submitted an immigration petition or application on their own and did not meet the requirements. Often, it is often easier, less expensive, and less stressful to do it right the first time with the help of an attorney, than to deal with a denial, a reconsideration, or an appeal, which are always time sensitive. This is especially true given that there are attorneys who offer reasonable prices for their services and choosing to do it yourself may not make much economic sense considering what’s at stake.

When securing representation, it is imperative that you are represented by a licensed attorney, and not a paralegal. Be aware that there are a lot of immigration document preparers or paralegals who represent themselves as attorneys and who take advantage of the immigrants. They are not allowed to practice immigration law or to provide legal advice. Also, in the United States, notary public are not required to be attorneys. They are only authorized to witness the signing of documents. They are not permitted to prepare legal documents or give legal advice, unless they also have an attorney license.

We have an exceptional understanding of what immigration clients are going through because we have personally experienced the immigration process when we themselves or our family members immigrated to the United States. This personal experience, coupled with our passion for immigration law and legal expertise help us maneuver a multi-step immigration process through federal departments and agencies to streamline our clients’ legalization process and safe them a lot of time and money.

How Can We Help?

The immigration law is very complex and it is constantly changing. We stay up-to-date with the latest changes to ensure that we provide competent representation to our clients.

Prior to the consultation, a client will need to complete an initial intake form and provide us with copies of current immigration documents so that we can review and analyze the information provided ahead of the consultation and if necessary, conduct any legal research to provide a preliminary analysis of the client’s case and discuss the client’s rights, the available options, and the best plan for achieving the client’s goals.

If the client retains our firm within 30 days, we will deduct the price of the consultation from our legal fees.

Most immigration cases are procedurally complex and evidence based. We assist our clients in gathering as much supporting documentation as possible to build a strong case. We ensure that we comply with all statutory requirements before we submit the case to appropriate immigration authorities. Finally, we communicate with our clients regularly to make sure they are aware of the status of their case and assist them with any other issues that may arise during the case processing.

If you would like to schedule a consultation to discuss your case, give us at all. 386-248-3000.
